We all want what’s best for our kids, but some families struggle to provide the basic necessities for their babes. But, where there’s a need, there’s a way, and Nurturing Families was set up in 2012 to provide the essentials for a baby to be safe. Its aim is to “relieve poverty by supplying families in hardship with baby items, emotional support, clothing, food, and other necessities.” They say it takes a village to raise a child, and Nurturing Families is taking this saying seriously in wanting to bring together communities in their bid to help these little ones and their whānau.

Like all registered charities, Nurturing Families is always on the lookout for helpful donors. One business that put up their hand to help was the Mom Store, which paid-it-forward a voucher for $550 worth of their products to help some of the 400 babies per month that Nurturing Families assists.

As its name suggests, the Mom Store is all about Mums and Bubs. Mom Store is a Coromandel-based family company that seeks to source and supply good quality, tried-and-true products that are useful, hard wearing and sustainably made. The company is also into reducing packaging and waste.

The Mom Store is a good fit for the ethos of Nurturing Families—they both want to look after our tamariki in the best way they can.
